Mr A S Vijay Kumar (FRCS) is a qualified Surgeon (Edinburgh) and has further experience in Strasbourg, France, Boston, San Diego, California USA. He has also worked previously operating on breast and bowel cancer patients in the West Country.

Other members of the team are Jan Perry (HCA), Jean Parker (HCA), Marilyn Ashurst (RGN), and Teresa McKenna (RGN).

The Practice takes pride in receiving surgical patients from other GPs within the Doncaster PCT and also offers advice. Included are patients from surrounding areas of Askern, Carcroft, Scawsby, Scawthorpe, Mexborough and Conisbrough.

We have obtained more that 96% satisfaction from our patients on the quality of service we provide.

Below are the number of operations carried out in the past few years:

• 2008/09 - over 300 excisions and 250 joint injections were carried out
   
• 2006/07 - 600 minor operations carried out by the team
   
• 2005/06 - 500 operations carried out
   
• 2004/05 - 250 operations carried out

We can operate on skin tags, growths and inject joints. There are exceptions. Please ask the staff for more information.

Our Practice is a training practice for GP Community Surgeons following their Minor Surgery course. They are welcome to apply, observe, assist and train.
