Patient
Responsibilities
- Patients are expected to
keep the appointment made.
- If a patient is unable to
keep an appointment they are requested to cancel the
appointment as soon as possible to ensure another
patient may obtain an appointment.
- We expect patients to
behave in a courteous and appropriate manner when
visiting the surgery.
- If a patient is violent or
abusive to any member of the surgery staff the
following actions will be taken:
Reported to the police.
Legal action, civil and criminal, will be taken.
- We subscribe to the zero
tolerance scheme of the government initiative
against violence against NHS staff.
- Violent patients will be
removed immediately from the doctor's list and
notification made to the PCT. A letter will also be
sent to the patient explaining the same.
